Write a review for the NETGEAR WG311 54 Mbps Wireless PCI Adapter - network adapter here!
Tried three different cards and couldn't get any of them recognised by my PC. I tried installing them on a different PC and they were recognised OK. My PC and PCI slots easily meet the minimum specification for the card, yet none of the online help nor the Netgear helpline could offer me a solution. So I've given up and returned the card to Dabs (who have been very helpful) for the last time. The various forums (including Netgears) are full of other tales of woe exactly like mine, and similarly unresolved. Strikes me that Netgear are selling a product they know won't ever work in some PCs.
If you are going to buy this part for XP, don't. Part installs OK and then system will not boot up correctly. In the end had to re-install XP. Do a search for WG311 and XP issues and you will see.
Same as others, it worked fine in XP for a while, then it wouldn't see the router, tried everything installing the latest drivers, i've even rebuilt the PC, and still no luck.
Having used the first version of this card with no problems, i expected this card to be the same. I was wrong. Had problems finding my wireless network and caused my pc to crash when installing the netgear drivers. Gave up on this card and went for an external usb one.
