1. When will the actual product be available for shipping?

Windows 7 is scheduled to be released on the 22nd October 2009

2. Can I buy it/place my order now?

You can place your order now. However, all Windows 7 stock that has been pre-ordered will be shipped on the 22nd October 2009

3. When will I receive my Windows 7 upgrade?

Depending on the delivery option you have chosen you should receive your copy of Windows 7 up to 7 working days after the 22nd October 2009.

4. Will Windows 7 work on my PC?

1GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
1GB RAM (32-bit) / 2GB RAM (64-bit)
16GB available disk space (32-bit) / 20 GB (64-bit)
DirectX® 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

5. What happens if I pre-order before the 22/10/09 and Windows 7 doesn't work on my PC?

Before ordering, please check your PC to see if it meets the requirements in Q4. If you do have any problems, please contact our Customer Services team.

6. I am currently running Windows XP, can I upgrade to Windows 7?

Microsoft designed Windows 7 upgrade for Vista users. A customer with Windows XP can purchase Windows 7 but must back up there files, clean, install and then reinstall their applications.

7. What is the Windows 7 Upgrade Option on selected PC's all about?

Specifically designated PCs that are pre-installed with Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Business, or Windows Vista Ultimate may qualify for an upgrade to the equivalent Windows 7. The upgrades will be provided to qualifying customers once Windows 7 becomes available. 8. What are the "equivalent" Windows 7 products for Windows Vista?

Windows Vista Home Premium is equivalent to Windows 7 Home Premium
Windows Vista Business is equivalent to Windows 7 Professional
Windows Vista Ultimate is equivalent to Windows 7 Ultimate

9. I bought a new PC with Windows Vista Home Premium in July 2009. Do I still qualify for the Windows 7 Upgrade Option?

PC's must be purchased between 26th June 2009 and 31st January 2010 to qualify for the upgrade option

10. How do I place an order for the Windows 7 upgrade once I have made a qualifying Vista PC purchase?

11. Will the upgrade cost anything extra?

There is no cost for Windows 7 itself, but you may have to pay shipping and handling fees.

12. How long is the Windows 7 upgrade Option available on Vista PC's?

The upgrade option expires on the 31st January 2010

13. I bought a qualifying Windows Vista Business-based PC but I used downgrade rights to install Windows XP Professional. Do I still qualify for the upgrade?

Yes, a system that was sold with a Windows Vista Business Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and has Windows XP Professional installed, and meets all other program offer requirements can be eligible for the Windows 7 upgrade.
