Faultless monitor and superb value for money. Do your eyes a favour - go buy one. Took 5 minutes to unpack, assemble and have working. Replaces a 19" Viewsonic (superb picture quality, but not widescreen) and so I did not expect the picture quality itself to be any better - I was stunned at the improvement. STALKER, Oblivion, COH and DVD's all look outstanding. I cannot fault the monitor in any way; looks fantastic, easy adjustment and no dead pixels. Outstanding value for money as well (cost me 2/3 the price of the 22" version which has the same resolution) The service from Dabs was, as ever, excellent - (thank you.) I pondered for some time about moving to wide screen as I don't watch films on my PC. I'm on to my 4th TFT and this beats the lot. Easy to setup, looks the biz and a picture quality second to none. DVI and RGB cables included which is nice. What swings it for me is the fact I can now work on two pages at a time in word without having to scroll up or down. I would have liked to be able to heighten the monitor an inch or so but the stand doesn't adjust up so that's not possible. Not a big problem but maybe something for Samsung to consider? Next day delivery means "next day" at Dabs, and the whole shopping experience has been top notch. Well pleased!
I'm a happy bunny.I can only echo what everyone else has said, this monitor is pure dead brilliant. Buy it, you wont be dissappointed, and buy it from Dabs, I ordered it one day and it was delivered next day at 10.30am and I live up in Scotland. Excuse me, I have to get back to BioShock.
Exeptional value for money....only seems to look good at one resolution tho...1680x1050...
taking a bit of getting used to compared to my old 19"CRT... but very handy running outlook in two columns side by side instead of having the windows top and bottom...
Overall.... very impressive!
Monitor is very sleek in my opinion, black mirror finish bevel w/minimal silver strip across base. Image quality is good. The colours are a touch radiant at first, nothing fiddling can't fix. No dead pixels/sub-pixels. Running off a VGA output, but has a DVI plug (included a 15 pin D-SUB (for VGA), DVI cable, UK power cable, & European power cable). Downsides; turning brightness below approx 80% the monitor starts to buzz, loudest at 40-50%, >10% is barely audible (normally what I have it on in dark room). The web seems to show that this is a problem common to several TFT monitors out. Other problem is interference. It's plugged into my laptop, when the fan/HD starts to spin feint bands appear on the darker areas. Moved the screen away from the laptop, and this effect has virtually gone. Haven't had any problems with viewing angle. Used for word processing, DVDs(ace!) games(half life 2, C&C3, Sup Com) - all look good. Ordered 4pm Weds, arrived 12pm Thurs - less than 24hrs!
Easy to install, need to user internet explorer with the cd to load drivers. And a great looking monitor, with superb picture quality and very fast response time. Personally I think that the colours are too radiant, but thats just down to personal preference. And a shame that there is no height adjustment on the stand. Thats the only reason I've given it 4/5 on overall product rating.
This monitor is guaranteed to be Class 1 compliant but it arrived with a cluster of 4 adjacent dead pixels at the bottom left of the screen which is not even acceptable for a Class 2 compliant LCD monitor. The usable viewing angle is only about 60 degrees corresponding to a minimum viewing a distance of one and a half feet before you won’t be able to tell medium grey from white at the bottom of the screen. Any deviation from centre causes the boxes at the bottom of a spreadsheet to appear grey instead of white and the grid lines to appear white instead of grey. Video looks fine and motion clear but you have to watch from at least a meter away for the colours and shades to appear uniform. The display is un-viewable when standing up so if you are pointing out something to a friend you both have to be sitting down. When in stand-by the blue power led flashes annoyingly on-&-off. Back lighting is mostly uniform. Black appears black in room light but very dark grey with no lights on.
