Superb card

I bought 3 of these and their sexy looking 5 port gigabit hub last year, and have to say the performance is excellent in both windows and linux.

You have to install the driver yourself under windows, but any recent kernel in Linux should pick it up no problem at all.

I'm almost tempted to buy more, but then I'd need to buy another switch!

Seems like good value to me...

Have just purchased one of these cards for our office to suit a Dell Dimension C521 with Vista Ultimate. It's a good system but didn't have an option for gigabit network interface card. Also, the C521 requires a low profile card - not an easy thing to find! Based on this page: http://www.edlug.org.uk/archive/Jan2007/msg00155.html I decided to take a chance and the NIC does indeed have a separate low profile plate in the box. One quick change later (just two screws) and I had the card installed. Vista got the drivers off the CD with no problems too! Great stuff.

Fine with Windows 2003 and Linux

I've had them working fine with both Windows 2003 and Linux (not tried XP yet.) If it's any help to others, you can use the r8169 module for Linux (on Debian Etch, anyway.) The supplied drivers (r1000) compiled for me after changing the start of line 387 in the source from MODULE_PARM to MODULE_PARM_DESC - found after a lot of looking around the Web.

All cards installed so far working fine in Windows XP/2003. We haven't seen any faulty card yet. Latest drivers recommended from website.

Incompatibility Issues with MacOS X

This card is specified as being MacOS compatible.

We installed the card on a Sawtooth G4 and a Quicksilver G4 both running MacOS X 10.3.9, it will not function on either machines leading us to believe it is not compatible with 10.3.
