Extremely quit in operation, and came configured for RAID5. Hardware and software installed first time, and the system has performed reliably. If you want to use the TeraStation from more than one computer.Go to the 'Memeo' website and buy online the latest version (it is only around £10 a copy) and has many more features. The Memeo software was the best £10 I have ever spent.. You will not be dissapointed by the drive or software.

Quick, easy and good value

Quick and simple to set up, small, quiet and unobtrusive. The best feature is its Active Directory/Windows Domain support. This means business users can plug it into their network, connect it to their domain and let Windows take care of user authentication, permissions, etc.

Set as Raid 5 this NAS is slower than the 250Gb external USB HDD which it was to replace. It takes 3 times longer to backup my main drive than the USB disk!!! Not impressed and have since found similar reviews.

Used just as NAS then its ok.

Disappointed.

Bad for business users

Have been battling with this box since I got it, won't interface with active directory or delegate control. Probably fine to use as a home user but don't expect to be able to delegate control to your server or set permissions on anything except the top level of your directory. POOR!

Buffalo Terastation NAS - It better not fail out of warranty because they don't supply spares!

We have a Buffalo Terastation NAS that we shipped over from the states.
Some idiot plugged it in, yea ok me :-) and blew the PSU. Phoned Buffalo
support in the UK (really unhelpful) and you cannot get a spare PSU or
Motherboard. They don't even supply an empty chassis!

If you have a Buffalo NAS and it goes wrong out of warranty you are
totally stuffed!

Sarcastically: I have never has a PC power supply fail, have you?
