I'm very pleased with this unit
It works on Linux with the NUT driver version 2.0.4 - no need for the supplied disk.
Powering my desktop and monitor it is reporting 25% load with a predicted runtime on battery of 45minutes!
I'm not quite convinced by that runtime - but it is certainly ample time for a safe system shutdown.
In response to Francis, most computer ups do not have uk mains type sockets on them, they have the universal 3 pin sockets for the standard computer power cables, which you might find you have to go out and buy. eg: Quicklinx 3ZMRWS
This may not have come with a mains cable - you use the one that your PC has now. The connectors are straight through male/female connectors. Unless the last reviewer had one designed for abroad then you should have no problem. I have bought a number of APC UPS's in the past and they are worth every penny. (You normally get two straight through leads with the UPS - enough for tower and monitor
Quality. Robust. Unit is protecting PC, flat screen and ext. hard drive. Constant status info available on PC desktop. Shutdown mechanism & software works well. Fantastic value.
Based on the previous review, I bought one.
I having unpacked it, there is no cable for connecting it to a UK power supply and the sockets are not the normal type for the UK i.e. I would have to buy different power cables to connect each device: computer, printer, etc.
This is mis-represented as a UK product and unsuitable for most UK home/small office situations.
Don't buy it unless you know how to connect it to your equipment.
