I run my own 'micro-business' and ever since setting it up have looked at a variety of backup solutions. Many have proved complicated and unreliable. With 8 PCs in my network - and no desire to spend hours acquanting myself with Windows Server (for business) - I bought one of these boxes and a copy of Windows Home Server 2011. I also upgraded RAM to 8GB and added a 2TB HDD. Build quality is superb for the twice the money. It's quiet (although some reviews suggest that not all N40Ls are equally quiet)and there are many neat touches (like the HDD mounting bolts supplied inside the case. The £100 cashback offer makes this too good to miss. Aamazed that the N40L has not been picked-up by the press. Fits a sizable niche in the market. Why pay more for a larger server or less capable NAS?
I bought one of these servers to replace an IBM smalll business server which failed. Since then I have bought one as a file server and another for a Home Cinema server, all running Windows Server OSs.
With the £100 cash back being extended (again) the price of this server becomes a bit of a no brainer decision.
