Our workshop will be practical and hands on. Together, we'll explore the powerful tools within Apple's Pages and Keynote apps and show how they can be used for creative writing projects in the classroom. We’ll also share some free templates to get you going quickly. Plus we'll look at a great example of how 'gamification' can aid literacy-based learning, using the fun adventure game, Sleuth IT.
Sleuth IT Adventure Games for Literacy
Sleuth IT uses gamification to engage and excite students (particularly boys with reading) in literacy. Think ‘Cluedo meets Adventure Game meets Escape Room’. Its range of multimedia and resources are suitable for Primary and Secondary school level students.
In the session, attendees will get the chance to have a go at some Sleuth IT cases and will be given free access to any Sleuth IT case to try within classroom activities. Sleuth IT is particularly effective in aiding the development of critical thinking skills for young people.
This workshop combines Apple applications with Sleuth IT activities to help inspire literacy work. Taking a hands-on look at creative projects, we can provide new ideas and tips on how to encourage reading, comprehension and collaboration in class.
